Touch Drawings

I first discovered Touch Drawing in a workshop with Deborah Koff Chapin who is the inventor of the process, which involves using intuition and sometimes working blind to discover images that come through the underside of the paper with your hands and fingers (much the same way that fingerpainting started in the 1920s with Ruth Shaw.)

In touch drawing, water based oil paints are applied to a large board with a brayer. Transparent paper or newsprint are laid upon the board as one then glides their fingers to create patterns or other content from deep within the subconscious.

The touch drawings are mounted onto another surface and sometimes embellished with other types of art materials such as watercolor or pastels. My touch drawings tend to emerge as landscapes, figures or pure abstraction.

Make it stand out.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
